A Little Something for NaPoMo

If you click on the menu button, you can find the code to embed this in your own blog or website. I would be flattered if you want to use it. If you do, please let me know. I'm interested in how useful this could be.

Nice PPT, Art! I'm glad you included my favorite, "Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits."

Thanks! I like a lot about Google Docs, but wish it had a wider range of fonts. I liked it better in Cooper Black. Quote are a favorite hobby.

Poetry is the laughter in my son's eyes and the squeeze of my daughter's hugs.

So there, Great Poets! Some Hallmark verse as well.

Nice PPT, Art!

Art,
This is a great PowerPoint. I am going to be teaching a poetry unit (for the first time) to sophomores at the end of the year. I might use some of these as motivation at the beginning of the unit. They definitely motivated me to get even more excited about poetry. I, of course, wish I was teaching poetry during NPM, but that's not the way the schedule worked out. Thanks for sharing, and I'll let you know if and when I use anything and how.

Tracy,

Glad you enjoyed this. And that you find it useful. Maybe this could lead into or follow a discussion on how your students would define poetry.

I was writing you a long comment, then decided I would write on my own blog and direct you there :)
